words

I like words,
Especially those that go rolling off the tongue
Like onomatopoeia
Splendiferous
Catamaran.
They make me want to run,
And jump,
To skip through the tunnel beneath the Thames;
To turn cartwheels in the park in Walla Walla;
Go rushing through the waves in Reykjavik;
Hike the caves at Timpanogas and Carlsbad Caverns.

I like words
That feel-
Squishy,
Velvet,
Ridged,
Wiggly,
Whispy

I like words that taste
Chocolate,
Gumbo,
Jambalaya,
Soufflé,

Words are excitement
Freedom
Laughter
Sorrow
Tears
Enjoy your words
Beware them

FAVORITES

I love autumn.
I love the soft, warm sunshine
I love the crisp cool air in the mornings.
The fiery sunsets and misty rainbows coloring the skies.
The sunflowers waving in the breeze.
I love the leaves turning red and golden
The geese flying noisily to their winter home
Apples and pumpkins ripening sweetly.
I love the peaceful sounds of the year
Slowly growing older. And
I love you too.
